Job Title: Sustainability Project LeadSustainability is at the heart of our operations, and we are seeking a dedicated Sustainability Project Lead to join our team. This 18-month fixed-term contract role will lead continuous improvement and sustainability projects to deliver compliant, innovative, and effective waste management solutions for the City of Melbourne.The Sustainability Project Lead will be embedded within the operational team, working closely with Council, contractors, and internal crews to manage and improve performance in sustainability, operational effectiveness, and the adoption of new technologies.Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop, execute and review project plans, including scope, timelines, and resource allocation, for waste management initiatives.
  • Collaborate with the City of Melbourne and internal teams to align projects with stakeholder goals and organizational priorities.
  • Research and recommend innovative technologies to improve operational outcomes and waste management practices.
  • Prepare comprehensive reports and presentations, delivering actionable insights and progress updates to stakeholders.
  • Create and implement tools, resources, and change programs to support contract objectives, documenting and communicating results for continuous improvement.
  • Assist with reporting activities, including data analysis and data collection, where required.

Ability to work independently, create new and innovative ideas to improve operational, sustainability or cultural outcomes.
