Job Opportunity for a Sous Chef

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Sous Chef to join our team at Hospitality Recruits in Melbourne.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement menus that meet the highest standards of quality and presentation.
  • Manage food and labour costs, ensuring efficient use of resources.
  • Liaise with suppliers to source high-quality ingredients and materials.
  • Monitor and maintain the highest standards of hygiene and food safety.
  • Freeze and preserve foods to ensure consistency and quality.

Requirements:

  • Completion of a relevant Commercial Cookery qualification, including Cert IV or Diploma of Hospitality.
  • Minimum of 3 years experience in a similar role.

Desirable Skills:

  • Sound cookery techniques and ability to learn new ones.
  • Ability to work well under pressure and as part of a team.
  • Positive, punctual, and professional approach.
  • Familiarity with food safety and OHS guidelines.
  • Attention to detail and competency with ordering and managing stock.
