Job Title: Technical Director - Engineering

Opportunity Overview

This is an exciting opportunity for a seasoned professional to lead the engineering team in a Tier 1 infrastructure contractor during the tender phase of key projects across Australia's energy transition.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide technical leadership and strategic direction to the engineering team during project tender phases
  • Foster a culture of collaboration and teamwork within the engineering department and across the wider organization
  • Lead the selection and collaboration with external design partners, developing strong working relationships and ensuring effective communication
  • Assign key personnel and conduct peer reviews and technical audits to ensure quality and adherence to industry standards
  • Drive engineering's contribution to business development, including building key client relationships and identifying new opportunities
  • Lead staff training and support ongoing professional development to enhance technical expertise
Requirements:
  • Proven experience as a Senior/Engineering Manager on major energy infrastructure projects (HV, Substations, Transmission Lines)
  • Relevant tertiary qualifications (e.g., BSc Engineering) with a strong focus on electrical or mechanical engineering disciplines
  • CPEng or eligibility to obtain registration with Engineers Australia
  • Membership (or eligibility) with a relevant engineering institution (e.g., Engineers Australia)
