Ground Services Manager

As a Ground Services Manager, you will play a pivotal role in overseeing the operations of our airport location. Your primary objective will be to foster and nurture strong relationships with our valued airline customers, based on trust, respect, and exceeding their expectations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Drive Safety and Compliance standards in accordance with Airline and Company Standard Operating Procedures.
  • Cultivate cohesive relationships with the Airport Authority and Airline Customer stakeholders.
  • Oversee the recruitment process, proactively identifying opportunities for growth.
  • Manage staff performance and provide objective feedback, guidance, and support.

Leadership and Management

As a leader, you will possess strong leadership skills combined with exceptional emotional intelligence, integrity, self-awareness, and effective communication. You will lead a dynamic team of over 15 employees, making it imperative to possess these qualities.

Operational Responsibilities

1. Safety and Compliance :

Innovatively address challenges while consistently ensuring Safety and Compliance, exceeding Airline Customer expectations.Effectively communicate Safety and Compliance updates through regular Toolbox meetings.

2. Stakeholder Relations :

Provide transparent and timely communication on daily operational performance of Ramp and Customer Service.

3. Workforce Management :

Foster a Just Culture, promoting incident reporting and preventing threats to Safety and Compliance.

4. Performance and Resource Management :

Efficiently plan and schedule daily resources, minimising overtime.

5. Audits and Reporting :

Prepare safety and incident / accident investigations, generating comprehensive reports.

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • A minimum of 3 years' experience in Ground Handling Services at an Australian Airport.
  • A minimum of 5 years' experience in people management, with a strong ability to confidently and effectively manage people.
  • A deep understanding of Airport Regulations and Compliance.
  • A thorough grasp of Airline Customer expectations regarding Safety and Compliance.
