Job Overview

We are currently seeking a qualified Maths Trainer and Assessor to deliver high-quality language, literacy, and numeracy training to empower electrical apprentices. This hands-on role involves designing and evaluating training, conducting assessments, and maintaining accurate reporting to meet government contract requirements and national standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver engaging and student-focused language, literacy, and numeracy training using adult learning principles and a variety of methodologies.
  • Conduct diagnostic, formative, and summative assessments, ensuring timely and accurate reporting of student progress.
  • Design, develop, and validate tools and resources that align with program and learner needs.
  • Foster learner engagement through real-world, project-based learning and innovative use of technology.
  • Maintain accurate records of training delivery and ensure compliance with privacy and reporting requirements.
  • Continuously improve professional knowledge and skills through training, curriculum development, and the adoption of new technologies.

Qualifications Required

  • A Bachelor of Education or equivalent and postgraduate qualifications in TESOL, Applied Linguistics, or Adult LLN (e.g., Grad Dip TESOL).
  • Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (TAE40116) or equivalent qualifications required by ASQA.
  • Previous experience in Maths tutoring.
  • Demonstrated teaching capability and recent experience delivering client-focused education.
  • Proficiency in using classroom technology and an ability to integrate innovative tools into teaching (e.g. Moodle).
  • Skilled in conducting assessments using nationally accredited curricula (e.g., CGEA, FSK, CSWE) and frameworks (e.g., ACSF).
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with experience working in multicultural learning environments.
  • Current Driver's licence.
  • Current Working With Children Check.
