**Job Opportunity**: Medical Trainee Position

An exciting opportunity exists to work in a geriatric department.

**Where you'll be working**
Our hospital is the major referral and teaching hospital, providing a range of inpatient, outpatient and community-based services. **What you'll be doing**

You will provide medical services within a patient-centred geriatric model of care to patients, developing expertise in a Geriatrician-led interdisciplinary care and management practice in a complex clinical environment. There are opportunities to rotate through subspecialty modules including orthogeriatrics, psychogeriatrics, consults to other teams, Aged Care Assessment Team (ACAT) in addition to acute and subacute patient care. This is an RACP-accredited training position. The rotations include community and outreach plus acute inpatients and orthogeriatrics.

**Requirements**

- MBBS or equivalent, currently registered or eligible for registration with the Medical Board of Australia
- Completion of at least 3 postgraduate years of medical training with a demonstrated interest in Geriatric Medicine
- Demonstrated ability to work independently within a supervised clinical environment using excellent clinical skills, judgement and expertise
- Excellent communication skills (verbal and written) and demonstrated ability to work effectively within multidisciplinary teams
- Evidence of continued professional development and commitment to self-education as well as a willingness to teach and support junior medical staff
- Demonstrated commitment to quality improvement, patient safety and risk management
