Geriatric Medicine Specialist

's. About the Role: The Nepean Blue Mountains Local Health District is inviting applications for a permanent full-time Staff Specialist position in Geriatric Medicine.

The successful applicant will work primarily at Nepean Hospital within the Department of Geriatric Medicine, providing expert medical assessment and management of patients with geriatric medicine specialty needs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide high-quality medical care to patients.
  • Work collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team to achieve patient-centered outcomes.
  • Contribute to research and quality improvement initiatives within the department.
  • Supervise junior medical staff and contribute to their professional development.

Requirements:

  • Registration with Australian Health Practitioners Regulation Agency (AHPRA).
  • Fellowship of The Royal Australasian College of Physicians (RACP) or equivalent specialist recognition.
  • Sound clinical knowledge and experience in Geriatric Medicine.
  • High level interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Commitment to teaching and supervision of junior medical staff.

Working Conditions:

  • A permanent full-time position is available.
  • Weekend work required.
