Lead Design Coordinator Job Description

About the Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Design Manager to lead our design coordination team. The successful candidate will have a proven track record of delivering complex construction projects, working closely with consultants, clients, and internal stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Select and engage consultants to produce high-quality construction documentation.
  • Manage consultants and coordinate the documentation process to ensure timely delivery.
  • Run regular design meetings, follow up on issues raised by consultants, and oversee services applications.
  • Hand over completed documentation to the construction team and provide support during construction.
  • Build strong relationships with clients throughout the design and construction process.
  • Capture multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining excellent time management skills.

Requirements:

  • Degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, or related field.
  • Minimum 5+ years' experience in a senior design coordination role with a reputable builder.
  • Experience within ECI (Early Contractor Involvement) and Tender Phase, as well as the Construction & Delivery Phase.
  • Strong Value Engineering & Buildability skills, with ability to analyze and optimize project costs.
  • Proven project management skills demonstrating Time, Cost, and Scope understanding.
  • Demonstrated expertise in functional briefs, consultant scopes, and engagements.
  • Experience across various building types, with a focus on high-value projects.
