Job Opportunity: Volunteer Board Director

We are seeking dedicated and passionate individuals to join our Board of Directors on a voluntary basis. As a Board Director, you will play a crucial role in guiding the strategic direction of our organisation and contributing to our mission to protect the environment.

The successful candidate will have strong leadership skills, be able to work collaboratively with others, and possess a deep understanding of the cultural, political, economic, and social context of Pasifika people. Experience in finance, financial management, and audit is highly desirable.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide guidance for setting the direction of the organisation
  • Monitor programmes and activities to ensure they align with the mission and achieve short-term goals and long-term purpose
  • Ensure executive performance by setting objectives and performance indicators for the CEO and regularly reviewing their performance
  • Ensure the organisation obtains and uses resources required to carry out its mission and sustain it
  • Be satisfied as to the adequacy and integrity of financial and other reporting to the Board and that there are adequate systems of internal control
  • Comply with governance standards

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Finance, financial management, and audit experience
  • Digital marketing and/or campaigns expertise
  • Deep understanding of the cultural, political, economic, and social context of Pasifika people
  • Leadership skills
  • Collaborative working style
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
