Environmental Director Position

We are seeking a dedicated Environmental Director to join our organization and contribute to our mission of environmental protection.

About the Role:

  • The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring that our organization's mission is clear, relevant, and effectively communicated.
  • They will provide guidance on strategic direction, monitor programs and activities, and ensure alignment with our mission and objectives.
  • The director will also oversee executive performance, financial management, and risk identification and mitigation.
  • Familiarity with Australian charity governance standards and compliance requirements is essential.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Develop and implement strategies to achieve organizational goals and objectives.
  2. Provide leadership and guidance to executive staff and committees.
  3. Ensure effective financial management, including budgeting and forecasting.
  4. Identify, assess, and mitigate risks to the organization.
  5. Comply with Australian charity governance standards and regulatory requirements.

Selection Criteria:

  • Finance experience: proficiency in financial management, budgeting, and forecasting.
  • Marketing experience: extensive experience in fundraising, sales, and marketing strategy development.
  • Campaigning and ecological/science experience: experience in campaign development, implementation, and evaluation, as well as a background in ecological or scientific fields.
