About the Role

As a Data Center Inventory Specialist at Microsoft, you will play a critical role in ensuring the accuracy and integrity of our global data center inventory. This position requires a high degree of attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

Key Responsibilities
  • Inventory Management: Perform cycle audits, execute incoming/outgoing deliveries, and coordinate security escorts for third-party vendors.
  • Asset Tracking: Maintain accurate and up-to-date inventory records, including configuration management databases and asset management repositories.
  • Physical Inventory: Conduct detailed physical inventory tracking and staging, and reconcile and report inventory discrepancies.
  • Data Destruction: Perform destruction of data bearing devices (DBD) following all Service Level Agreements (SLAs) and Microsoft policies.
  • Reporting and Communication: Notify management about ordering stock shortages and escalate any issues to management.
