Leadership Opportunity in Early Childhood Education

We are seeking a highly skilled professional to lead our preschool field officer team.

A leader who is committed to supporting their team while managing their own caseload, ensuring kindergarten programs meet the needs of children with additional needs by providing support and guidance to educators.

The program contributes to the provision of quality kindergarten programs across the municipality with services delivering Victorian Government funded kindergarten programs.

  • Manage the preschool field officer program to ensure high-quality customer service to early childhood education and care services and the community.
  • Support family's equitable access to care and education with the aim of increasing participation in the early years.

Applicants that have worked in a preschool field officer role previously will be highly regarded for this leadership role. A tertiary qualification in early childhood education is required, as well as skills and experience in developing, leading, supervising, supporting and mentoring teams.

Additional qualifications or experience working in early intervention are highly desirable. Strong partnerships with internal programs such as best start, playgroups, maternal and child health, and other programs in the family, youth and children's department are essential.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead, support, supervise and mentor preschool field officer staff.
  • Complete regular check ins for each preschool field officer.
  • Strengthen partnerships with internal programs.
  • Plan and contribute to community engagement and education opportunities.
  • Attend meetings and represent the department as required.
