Fleet Maintenance Manager Job Summary

This is an exciting opportunity to lead our fleet maintenance operations and ensure the smooth running of our vehicles.

Job Description:
  • We are seeking a highly experienced Fleet Maintenance Manager to oversee the daily activities related to tracking transportation vehicles.
  • The successful candidate will be responsible for planning, organising and managing the work of subordinate staff to ensure that tasks are completed efficiently and effectively.
  • Liaising with third-party repairers and coordinating maintenance schedules will also be key aspects of this role.
Responsibilities:
  • Vehicle Tracking and Maintenance: Direct activities related to tracking transportation vehicles, ensuring they are regularly serviced and maintained to optimal standards.
  • Team Management: Plan, organise and manage the work of subordinate staff to achieve organisational requirements.
  • Liaison with Repairers: Liaise with third-party repairers to coordinate maintenance schedules and ensure timely completion of tasks.
  • Scheduling and Logistics: Order parts and facilitate work schedules for the workshop, transport vehicles, trucks and trailers to repairers where required.
  • Cost Control: Drive operational costs down without compromising the operational effectiveness of the fleet.
Additional Responsibilities:
  • Country Fleet Allocator Support: Back up to our Country Fleet Allocator and understand all aspects of their role, which may include planning and allocation of deliveries, driver's run sheets/time sheets, liaising with customers and drivers, handling incoming and outgoing calls, creating transport routes based on business and customer needs, and developing and maintaining relationships and rapport with all staff and drivers.
Requirements:
  • Previous Experience: Previous experience as a Transport Allocator is essential.
  • Licence Requirements: Preferably HR, HC or MC licence accredited.
  • Geographical Knowledge: Knowledge of the Queensland country areas is desirable.
  • Fatigue Regulations: Current knowledge of Fatigue rules and regulations is necessary.
  • Driver Run Planning: Ability to effectively plan and organise driver runs.
  • Problem Solving: Proactive and organised, with the ability to problem solve.
  • Adaptability: Ability to adapt to new technologies.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent communication skills - both written and verbal.
  • Prioritisation: Driven and passionate about the transport industry.
