Data Modeling Expert

We are seeking a highly skilled Data Modeling Expert to drive the maturity of our next generation data platform on AWS cloud.

About the Role:

  • The successful candidate will provide specialist skills to deliver robust data modelling structures in a growing team.
  • They will contribute to critical support for the Data Enablement portfolio in a leading global multinational investment bank and financial services company.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Liaise closely with the Information Architect team to ensure delivery is in accordance with the agreed architecture, High Level Solution Designs and Information Strategy.
  2. Design and implement end-to-end data solutions that support business objectives and enhance decision-making capabilities.
  3. Develop detailed data models, including conceptual, logical, and physical models, to support various business processes.
  4. Ensure data is structured and optimized for efficient querying, analysis, and reporting.
  5. Work closely with Data Engineers and other stakeholders in the data domain to produce robust data modeling solutions.
  6. Lead the development of data flow diagrams, entity-relationship diagrams, and other necessary documentation to guide the data design process.
  7. Monitor and maintain data quality, ensuring data accuracy, consistency, and integrity across all systems.

Requirements:

  • Excellent experience working in data modeling and architecture in Financial services organizations like banks or insurances.
  • Excellent experience of data modeling principles across conceptual, logical and physical data models.
  • Proficiency in NoSQL database management systems (e.g., Aurora, MySQL, Dynamo).
  • Experience in Iceberg will be highly preferred.
  • Experience in different data modeling techniques and design patterns like 3nf, Data Vault, Kimball etc.
  • Familiarity with big data technologies such as Hadoop, Spark, or similar tools is a plus.
  • Previous experience working with payments systems and understanding of payment processing flows is highly desirable.
