Key Responsibilities

This Casual Food Services Assistant role is a vital part of our hospital's food services team.

  • Deliver high-quality food to various hospital areas with efficiency.
  • Manage tasks related to plating and meal delivery.
  • Prepare non-cooked items such as salads and sandwiches for patients and staff.
  • Restock supplies in designated areas, ensuring seamless operations.
  • Operate and maintain food preparation and service equipment, guaranteeing optimal performance.
  • Handle cafeteria duties, including Point of Sale transactions and cash handling with accuracy.

In addition, you will be responsible for:

  • Maintaining cleanliness and organisation in cool rooms and food storage areas.
  • Managing stock rotation, receiving orders, and restocking food storage areas effectively.
  • Coordinating pot washing, rubbish removal, and storage tasks efficiently.

We are seeking a flexible and motivated individual who can work across all days of the week, including weekends and public holidays. Previous experience in commercial kitchens and knowledge of food safety systems (HACCP) are desirable but not essential. A professional demeanor and commitment to workplace safety and wellbeing are must-haves for this role.
