We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Family and Domestic Violence Liaison Officer to join our team at Mission Australia. As a key member of our Pilbara Family & Domestic Violence Coordinated Response Service, you will play a critical role in providing high-quality case management services to individuals and families affected by domestic violence.
Key ResponsibilitiesRespond to referrals from WA Police in a coordinated manner with Police and Child Protective Services, ensuring timely completion of documentation.
Conduct risk assessments and safety planning using the Common Risk Assessment and Risk Management Framework to determine risks.
Respond to urgent client safety needs.
Participate in interagency meetings, steering committees, and other forums to share information and best practice, highlighting the needs of families in the community.
Adhere to internal and external policy and procedures, statutory and contractual requirements, including client confidentiality, duty of care, and OHS.
Develop quality relationships with stakeholders and partners, including community organizations and health professionals, to provide effective support and information to clients.
Relevant tertiary qualifications and/or demonstrated work experience in the child, youth, and family, and/or FDV sectors.
Strong understanding of Domestic and Family Violence sector, including current legislation and the WA Strategic Plan for Family and Domestic Violence, Child Protection, and the requirements of the Children, Young Persons and Their Families Act.
Demonstrated experience in engaging and working therapeutically with women and children in various settings, including refuges.
Exceptional time management and organizational skills.
Person-centered approach with the ability to meet people where they are at.
Ability to work weekends and public holidays as required on a rostered basis.
Full driver's license with no restrictions.
