Position Overview

The Financial Product Manager will oversee the vision and strategic roadmap for the financial services offered by Farm Credit Services. This role involves collaborating with member associations to identify their needs and maintaining a prioritized backlog of potential enhancements that deliver significant business value. The Product Manager will also influence vendor roadmaps and determine the integration of changes into standard solutions versus custom developments.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Manage and prioritize the backlog of feature requests, utilizing appropriate frameworks.
  2. Monitor evolving regulations in accounting and financial reporting to assess their impact on our offerings.
  3. Focus on understanding business challenges rather than jumping to solutions, evaluating if existing products can meet the needs of associations.
  4. Create and maintain a comprehensive product roadmap.
  5. Engage with vendors to understand their roadmaps and assess implications for association processes.
  6. Evaluate whether requested features should be incorporated into the base product or treated as unique enhancements.
  7. Lead the entire product lifecycle from ideation through development, launch, and post-launch evaluation.
  8. Define and analyze success metrics for product performance.
  9. Communicate business requirements effectively to development teams.
  10. Provide updates on product status, key challenges, and launch strategies to stakeholders.
  11. Conduct analyses to determine whether to buy, build, or partner for new capabilities.
  12. Establish the minimum viable product and overall product direction.
  13. Conduct interviews with stakeholders to gather insights.
  14. Coordinate delivery and release processes, including training on new features.

Qualifications

  1. Bachelor's degree in accounting, business administration, finance, computer science, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
  2. 8+ years of experience in a product-led technology organization.
  3. 6+ years of experience in product management or a related role.
  4. Preferred experience in accounting and financial management within the agricultural or financial sectors.
  5. Experience in lending, servicing, and general accounting initiatives.
  6. Strong understanding of the finance market and regulatory compliance related to Farm Credit Associations.
  7. Familiarity with Agile methodologies.
  8. Excellent relationship management skills.
  9. Proficient in gathering, organizing, and analyzing information.
  10. Ability to prioritize tasks effectively to meet deadlines.
  11. Strong verbal and written communication skills across all organizational levels.
  12. Experience in developing and delivering user training.
  13. Ability to communicate product features effectively to association leaders and engage team members in discussions.
  14. Familiarity with Core Banking platforms.
  15. Ability to create and interpret product metrics such as KPIs and OKRs.
  16. Demonstrated entrepreneurial spirit and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
  17. Willingness to travel as required for project needs.
  18. Regular attendance and the ability to work a full 8-hour day are essential.
