We are seeking a Senior Financial Strategist to join our client in Melbourne's northern suburbs. As a key member of the leadership team, you will play a pivotal role in shaping financial strategy and driving operational success.

Reporting to the Managing Director, you will lead a team of two accountants and be responsible for developing and implementing financial strategies, including budgeting, forecasting, and analysis. You will also provide detailed financial insights to the executive team and board, manage cash flow, foreign exchange, investments, and project funding, and oversee tax strategies and assessing financial risks and opportunities.

In addition to these responsibilities, you will establish and maintain robust internal controls to protect company assets, lead and mentor the finance team to ensure high performance and development, and drive performance improvement initiatives to optimise costs and efficiencies. You will also support profitability through margin analysis and financial forecasting, and ensure compliance for payroll, quality, and IT functions.

The ideal candidate will possess a CPA or CA qualification with proven experience in a senior finance role within an engineering, manufacturing, or technical environment. They will have strong financial acumen with expertise in financial planning, budgeting, and analysis, and intellectual curiosity and analytical skills to understand the complexities of the business's operations and technical projects.

Furthermore, the ideal candidate will have demonstrated leadership skills, with a track record of mentoring and developing high-performing teams, excellent stakeholder management abilities, with experience partnering with executive teams to drive business outcomes, and a proactive and strategic mindset, with the ability to identify opportunities for performance improvement and cost optimisation.
