We are seeking a highly skilled Strategic Land Use Planner to play a pivotal role in implementing a new project that aims to reduce bushfire risk across Victoria.

About the Role
  • Develop and implement effective strategies to mitigate bushfire risk in high-risk areas through proactive land use planning practices.
  • Collaborate with a small team of experts to review and implement a new bushfire risk information tool, ensuring seamless integration with existing systems.
  • Provide expert advice on urban and regional land use planning, statutory planning, and planning for natural hazards, including bushfires.

About You:

  • Tertiary qualification in urban or regional land use planning (or similar) and experience in strategic planning (preferred) or statutory planning.
  • Strong understanding of the Victorian planning system and provisions, settlement and growth planning, planning scheme amendment process, role of referral authorities and planning for natural hazards, including bushfires.
  • An ability to influence and implement planning policy objectives to address planning and building issues associated with natural hazards and emergency management.
