Development Planning Specialist

Melbourne - Full-time Opportunity

The Role

We are seeking a Development Planning Specialist to strengthen our internal planning capability. This role will ensure timely and commercially aligned approvals that maximise land value.

You will lead structure planning, PSP processes, and rezonings for strategic sites, working closely with senior development professionals while collaborating with government agencies and consultant teams to achieve strategic outcomes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Define and deliver comprehensive planning strategies across landholdings.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with VPA, DEECA, councils, and agencies.
  • Manage and coordinate external planning consultants to ensure value-for-fee outcomes.
  • Monitor policy and infrastructure changes to position the company advantageously.
  • Support the General Manager on broader project delivery and acquisitions.

You'll need :

  • Expertise in Victoria's statutory and strategic planning systems.
  • Experience with PSPs, rezonings, and approvals in growth corridors.
  • Established relationships with planning authorities and government stakeholders.
  • Commercial acumen and an understanding of how planning impacts feasibility.
  • Experience managing consultants and multi-disciplinary project teams.
  • A collaborative, proactive style with the ability to influence high-value outcomes.
