Job Description:
We are seeking an experienced Veterinary Professional to join our team as an Equine Specialist. In this role, you will be responsible for providing veterinary services at race meetings, examining horses, and advising stewards on their suitability to race.
Key Responsibilities:
- Attend race meetings and provide veterinary services in accordance with our policies and the Rules of Racing.
- Examine horses and provide expert advice to Stipendiary Stewards regarding their suitability to race.
- Manage and coordinate the delivery of our drug control program at race meetings.
- Deliver advice to Stipendiary Stewards and industry stakeholders on matters related to horse health, welfare, and drug control regulations.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- A degree in Veterinary Science from an Australian university or an equivalent overseas qualification recognised in Australia.
- Registration or eligibility for registration as a veterinarian in the State of Victoria.
- A minimum of five years of post-qualification experience in equine practice.
- Experience managing veterinary responsibilities on raceday, including examination of horses, liaising with stewards, and managing drug control protocols.
