Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled Principal Mining Engineer to join our team at BMA Caval Ridge Mine. As a senior member of the Mine Scheduling team, you will be responsible for the completion and optimization of the 3-month to 2-year schedule and ensure delivery against business targets and supply chain demands.
Key Responsibilities
- Completion of monthly forecasts of the mine schedule ranging from 3 months to 2 years, including formulation of the budget plan.
- Review and optimization of planning-related inputs.
- Completion of schedule-related outputs and presentation of outcomes to relevant stakeholders.
- Providing advice on optimization of equipment strategy, infrastructure plan, and overall pit layout.
- Developing strong working relationships with operational teams and mine planning functions.
Requirements
- You will have a tertiary education in Engineering (Mining/Civil) and at least 5 years' experience in mine planning at coal mining operations.
- You will have previous experience in a scheduling-based role as well as experience across multiple disciplines of mine planning with a deep understanding of production processes.
- You have strong communication and interpersonal skills allowing you to build relationships across departments and to communicate with disciplines at all levels.
- You can operate in a fast-paced environment and manage demands of multiple stakeholders.
- A strong working knowledge of Deswik and SPRY is essential.
