Facilities Maintenance Assistant

Job Description:

We are seeking a reliable and skilled Facilities Maintenance Assistant to join our team. The successful applicant will be responsible for carrying out general maintenance tasks, including repairs and upkeep of property, plant and equipment.

The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of building maintenance principles and practices, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintenance: carry out general repairs and maintenance of property, plant and equipment, lights, doors, handles, locks, playground.
  • Grounds: upkeep and general cleaning of grounds and environs; rubbish collection, external facades, building internals.
  • Oval & Lawns: mowing, edging.
  • Events: setting up/packing of chairs, tables, stage, equipment, gazebos and other requirements for events.
  • Security: locking & unlocking of the facility and conducting vandalism inspections.
  • Deliveries: accepting and deploying suppliers' deliveries.
  • Stocktake: undertaking stocktake of equipment and supplies and ordering as needed.
Requirements:

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A strong understanding of general building maintenance principles and practices.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • The ability to prioritize tasks and pay attention to detail.
  • The ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
  • Computer skills and experience working with maintenance management systems.
  • A working knowledge of WHS, manual handling procedures and promotes and safe work environment.
  • Willingness to assist with maintaining the presentation of the facility to a high standard.
