Conflict Resolution Specialist

This permanent part-time opportunity requires working 3 days per week (21 hours). The successful candidate will be based at a Family Relationship Centre and will be available to work in the centre on Wednesday across 3 consecutive days.
As a Family Dispute Resolution Practitioner, you will provide Family Dispute Resolution (FDR) to families post-separation who are experiencing various levels of conflict and unable to reach agreements about children or property. You will work with a team of professionals to support families holistically.
About You- Accredited by the Australian Attorney-General's Department as a Family Dispute Resolution Practitioner or eligible for accreditation. Uniting will require evidence of eligibility.
- Tertiary qualifications in law, psychology or social work.
- Understanding of child inclusive mediation practice.
- Knowledge of family law legislation.
- Knowledge and understanding of community services, especially those relating to families experiencing relationship difficulties.
- Understanding of child protection issues.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently as well as contribute to the functioning of the team.
- Excellent communication, organisation, writing skills and computer literacy.
- Meet program-specific client targets.
- Experienced in working with Culturally and Linguistically Diverse communities and individuals from a range of cultural backgrounds.
- Culturally sensitive, able to view situations through a cultural lens.
- Multilingual or confident communicating across language and cultural barriers (desirable).
- Aware of unique challenges faced by CALD communities and committed to supporting them with empathy.
- Kind, calm, and humble, with a strong team mindset.
- Able to remain neutral and exercise discretion and sensitivity in complex situations.
