The RoleWe are seeking experienced caregivers to join our team at Ascot Waters Home in Western Australia. As a caregiver, you will work under the guidance of registered nurses to assist residents with daily living activities, enhancing their well-being and ensuring high-quality care delivery.
Key Responsibilities- Support residents in living independently by allowing them to exercise choice and autonomy.
- Contribute to maintaining a high quality of life for residents, encompassing physical, emotional, and lifestyle interests.
- Implement clinical and care interventions delegated by registered nurses, as documented in residents' care plans.
- Assist residents with personal care and hygiene needs while encouraging independence.
- Prioritize workloads effectively to deliver care with compassion and decency.
- Demonstrate kindness, patience, and respect for residents' individual needs, privacy, dignity, choice, and self-esteem.
- Commit to continuous quality improvement.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills.
- A strong understanding of Aged Care Quality Standards, the Aged Care Act, and Quality of Care Principles.
- Reliability to work set shifts according to a roster and basic computer skills.
- A working knowledge of Workplace Health & Safety (WHS) and infection control.
- A Certificate III in Aged Care/Individual Support (or currently working towards).
- Previous experience in the aged care sector is preferred but not essential.
- A current NDIS clearance, proof of Rights to Work, and a current immunisation certificate (including influenza and COVID-19 vaccination, including booster).
