Job Description:

We are seeking a skilled and ambitious lawyer to join our team as a Courtroom Advocate. This is an exciting opportunity for a 1st - 2nd year lawyer with sound litigation skills, who has a keen interest in working across a wide range of disputes including construction matters, property disputes, and other complex legal issues.

The ideal candidate will have a strong passion for litigation work and be eager to engage in a diverse range of commercial disputes, often involving real property. They will possess good client and practice management skills, and be motivated to quickly move to an Associate role.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Handling a diverse range of disputes, with a specific focus on insurance law, construction matters, property disputes, and other commercial litigation
  • Conducting legal research, drafting pleadings, and preparing case files for court proceedings
  • Collaborating with clients and internal stakeholders to develop effective litigation strategies
  • Attending court hearings, mediations, and settlement negotiations on behalf of clients
  • Providing legal advice and guidance to clients on complex legal issues
Requirements:
  • 1st - 2nd year lawyer experience with strong litigation skills and some experience in front-end construction and contract drafting
  • Knowledge of insurance law and experience in insurance litigation, particularly in relation to coverage disputes
  • Ability to think strategically and provide creative solutions to complex legal problems
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with clients and colleagues
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment and contribute to a positive and dynamic office culture
