Clinical Nurse Consultant - Stoma Care Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Clinical Nurse Consultant to join our multidisciplinary team at Westmead Private Hospital.

This role will see you take on an active leadership position, driving the development and provision of evidence-based clinical nursing practices while working collaboratively with healthcare professionals across various disciplines.

You will serve as a key resource for all healthcare staff, providing expert guidance on the assessment and management of stomas, fistulas, wounds, and peristomal aspects of patient care.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Initiating diagnostic investigations
  • Delivering pre- and post-operative education and care to ostomy patients

Reporting to the Nurse Unit Manager, you will work closely with the Department Manager, Team Leaders, and Shift Leaders to ensure high-quality patient care is delivered consistently.

To be successful in this role, you must have:

  • Relevant registration with AHPRA as a Registered Nurse
  • Membership with the Australian Association of Stomal Therapy Nurses (AASTN)
  • Qualifications in Stomal Therapy or working towards
  • A minimum of three years' experience in a hospital nursing role
  • Demonstrated ability to assess, plan, coordinate, and evaluate care delivery needs for patients
  • Exceptional customer service and time management skills
  • The capacity to thrive in a fast-paced environment while maintaining positive working relationships with others
  • Proven ability to work effectively in a team and independently as required
