Senior Contract Specialist

A Commercial Contract Manager is required to join our team on a major project in Werribee, Victoria. The successful candidate will be responsible for planning and managing the end-to-end commercial management of large and complex subcontracts and self-performed works.
The role will involve scope of works planning, procurement package preparation, subcontractor identification and negotiation, cost forecasting, and contract administration.
Key Responsibilities:- Participate in scope of works planning to ensure minimal scope gaps and maximised cost efficiencies.
- Prepare procurement packages and identify potential subcontractors.
- Negotiate and prepare subcontracts, ensuring accurate cost forecasting and escalation of any issues.
- Maintain contact and good working relationships with subcontractors and stay aware of market conditions.
- Assess commercial and contractual risks associated with subcontract delivery and implementation.
- Perform duties in accordance with company policies, processes, systems, and procedures.
- Degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Economics, Quantity Surveying, Law, Commerce, or equivalent.
- Postgraduate qualifications, such as a graduate certificate or diploma, in related fields.
- Minimum 5 years' experience as a Contracts Administrator or Quantity Surveyor in construction and engineering.
- Experience in all stages of subcontract management, including scope preparation, procurement, cost forecasting, subcontractor management, claims/variations management, completion, and close-out.
- Strong commercial acumen and awareness in areas of cost management and contract law.
