Lead Georesources Projects

You will lead a diverse team to deliver complex mining, petroleum and gas projects across Queensland. This includes abandoned mine remediation and recommercialisation programs, and management of state-owned non commercial water assets.

Reporting to the Deputy Director-General, you will provide strategic advice to Government and Ministerial staff on sensitive issues and collaborate across the public sector and industry to drive positive outcomes for all Queenslanders.

Your focus will be on project management, economic feasibility and commercial probity, ensuring public safety through effective management of Queensland's abandoned mines program, while fostering economically attractive investment opportunities.

  • Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage resource sector or state-owned asset operations
  • Navigate complex commercial, probity, governance and legal frameworks
  • Lead remote, dispersed technical experts to deliver broad works/programs and capital expenditure
  • Hold a current open C class driver licence

To succeed in this role, you will require strong leadership skills, experience managing complex projects and a deep understanding of economic feasibility.
