Job Title: Urgent Care Nurse

Our organization is seeking a skilled Casual Urgent Care Practice Nurse – Enrolled Nurse to join our healthcare team. As a vital member, you will provide high-quality nursing support and ensure all patients that present to the urgent care service are given appropriate care in collaboration with registered nurses (RNs).

Key Responsibilities:
  • Support RNs in delivering exceptional patient care for injuries or illnesses.
  • Perform care activities including history assessments, administering medications, wound care, plastering, and providing patient education.
  • Ensure patient care activities are within scope of practice and comply with relevant policies and procedures.
  • Assist with patient services, greeting and assisting patients, monitoring appointment books, registering, and updating registration details as required.
  • Provide guidance relating to inclusion and exclusion criteria over the phone as needed.
  • Maintain a clean and well-stocked clinical area, completing administrative tasks such as Medicare billing, coding, and scanning documentation into patient files.
  • Document high-quality comprehensive information in all patient files.
  • Participate in workplace health and safety practices, ensuring all incidents and hazards are reported according to organizational policies.
Requirements:
  • Current AHPRA registration as an Enrolled Nurse.
  • Flexibility to work evenings and weekends.
  • Minimum 2 years experience in emergency settings, focusing on acute injury and illness management and fast-track patient flow.
  • 2 years direct clinical practice nursing care experience is essential.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with excellent attention to detail.
  • Ability to work in fast-paced environments, handle escalations, and collaborate with other healthcare professionals.
  • A passion for patient-centered care and personable approach.
