The Role

This role will play a crucial part in supporting the day-to-day operations of our Newsroom. Reporting into the Senior Production Managers within the World News Admin team, you will be responsible for managing the In-Language News rosters, including daily updates and late changes. Additionally, you will complete a range of administrative tasks, such as invoice processing, expense reconciliations, account/subscription management, and minor procurement.

You will also monitor, action, and archive the NewsAdmin Inbox, maintain DocHub, and other file management systems. Furthermore, you will plan and book all staff domestic travel, prepare risk assessments, and assist with international travel when required. You will facilitate contractor engagement, including preparing contracts, contractor induction, invoice management, and payment.

As a key member of the team, you will contribute to Newsroom training planning, documentation, and record-keeping. You will also assist with the planning and delivery of Newsroom events, including organizing catering. Additionally, you will generate call sheets and assist the Senior Production Manager with studio bookings.

About You

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented individual with strong production administration experience, ideally with an understanding of broadcast or news and current affairs operations. You should be familiar with rostering platforms and have a working knowledge of rostering principles and compliance.

Demonstrated knowledge of contract management is essential, along with confidence in liaising with a high number of internal and external stakeholders, at times under broadcast critical conditions. A strong, engaging communicator with resourceful critical thinking skills capable of responding in a deadline-driven environment is also required.

Salary and Benefits

The estimated salary for this role is around $60,000 - $80,000 per annum, depending on experience. SBS offers a range of benefits, including flexible work arrangements, health checks, salary packaging, an employee assistance program, and free gym membership and parking for Sydney-based employees.
