Electrical Distribution Project Manager

As a seasoned electrical distribution project manager, you will play a crucial role in overseeing the successful delivery of overhead and underground distribution line projects across various regions. Your expertise will be utilized to develop scopes and proposals, build high-performing project teams, execute projects efficiently, and ensure timely closure while maintaining exceptional quality standards.

The ideal candidate will possess prior experience in managing small to medium-sized projects and have a proven track record of providing technical leadership. They will be well-equipped to take on broader responsibilities and oversee all aspects of larger, more complex distribution line projects with confidence.

  • Project Oversight: Managing and leading electrical distribution projects from initiation to completion, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and objectives.
  • Team Leadership: Directing, mentoring, training, and supervising project engineers, EITs, designers, CADD technicians, and administrative staff to optimize workload, quality, and team morale.
  • Quality Assurance/Control: Implementing HDR's Quality Management Systems (QMS) requirements, striving for world-class quality in every aspect of project delivery.
  • Project Components: Overseeing non-engineering aspects of projects, including public involvement, environmental permitting, right-of-way acquisition, construction management, and other services as needed.
  • Staff Supervision: Providing oversight of project team members' workload, quality, utilization, and performance, conducting annual performance reviews to support professional growth.
  • Collaboration and Support: Leveraging existing staff resources to execute work and deliver exceptional services to clients in the region.
  • Client Management: Performing client-facing activities, including project management, staff supervision, and technical support.
  • Talent Acquisition: Collaborating with HDR's Talent Acquisition team and leadership to develop a hiring plan and build a team of experienced distribution professionals.

This role demands excellent client management skills, business development acumen, and relationships with power delivery clients. The successful candidate will be committed to delivering quality, driving improvement, and upholding HDR values.

Requirements include a Bachelor's degree in a relevant field, 7 years of related experience, and a minimum of 2 years of project management experience. The targeted salary range for this position is commensurate with experience.
