About the Role
We are seeking a dynamic and professional WHS Advisor to join our team at Hostplus. As a WHS Advisor, you will play a critical role in maintaining a safe and healthy work environment for our growing corporate organisation nationwide.
Key Responsibilities
- Act as a trusted advisor to our leaders and employees on all WHS matters, ensuring compliance with relevant legal frameworks, policies, procedures, and the Hostplus enterprise agreement.
- Chair the WHS Committee and ensure that the group performs all required duties, including safety inspections, emergency evacuation drills, and training staff in safety-related roles.
- Develop and facilitate safety-related education in consultation with the Organisational Development team.
- Manage and report on incident and hazard registers, as well as conduct ergonomic assessments.
- Manage third-party safety audits for all office locations and report on any recommendations.
- Manage workers' compensation claims, including creating and supporting return-to-work plans.
- Assist in investigations and reporting of workplace incidents.
About You
- You will have a minimum of 4 years' experience in a similar role within a corporate environment.
- You will have strong knowledge and understanding of national WHS laws and best practices.
- You will have experience in psychosocial risk management, including continued improvements in how psychosocial risks are investigated and managed.
- You will have some knowledge of human resource management laws and best practices.
- You will have experience with injury management, Workcover claims, and rehab and return-to-work programs.
- You will be able to develop strong working relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
- You will have excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to influence internal and external stakeholders.
- You will have strong relationship-building and management skills.
- You will be able to work effectively within a high-pressure environment.
- You will be able to provide timely and accurate services to internal and external clients to meet service standards.
- You will have experience in developing, evaluating, and maintaining strategic and operational workplace mental health and wellbeing systems and programs.
- You will have strong technical and problem-solving skills and excellent attention to detail.
- You will be able to identify and implement continuous improvement within current work practices.
- You will have relevant tertiary qualifications in Work, Health and Safety, Human Resources, or equivalent.
