Senior Trading Analyst, Autobidder Role

We are seeking a skilled Senior Trading Analyst to join our team. This is an exciting opportunity to leverage your analytical expertise and drive business growth in the energy sector.

This role offers a unique combination of trading performance management and continuous improvement, with a focus on optimizing battery revenues and supporting the transition to sustainable energy.

About the Role
  • Manage trading performance for a fleet of battery storage projects, driving continuous improvements in our automated trading platform.
  • Develop actionable insights to support decision-making and optimize battery revenues.
  • Collaborate with engineers to refine trading strategies and monitor real-time performance.
  • Participate in on-call rotations to manage 24/7 BESS trading in the AEMO market.
What You'll Do
  1. Lead high-impact analytical projects that guide trading strategy and algorithm development.
  2. Shape how we approach complex analytical problems, such as market mechanism modelling and simulations.
  3. Collaborate with optimization and software teams to co-design reusable tools and workflows.
  4. Develop and document trading processes to improve team and asset performance.
  5. Analyse evolving market design and policy changes to assess their impact on storage monetization.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Economics, Finance, or Engineering.
  • 3+ years of physical or financial trading experience in Australian electricity markets.
  • Proficient in SQL, Python, and Jupyter Notebooks for data analysis.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills with a collaborative approach.
  • Data-driven mindset with informed opinions on our trading platform.
