We seek a motivated Junior Energy Trader to support our Physical Markets team. This role offers an unparalleled opportunity to contribute to Australia's renewable energy future while expanding your knowledge in energy markets.

Our rapidly growing generation portfolio boasts five wind farms producing 600MW, with upcoming additions including the MacIntyre Wind Farm (923MW), set to be the largest in the Southern Hemisphere, and the Aldoga Solar Farm (380MW).

About Your Role

As a Junior Energy Trader, you will collaborate closely with teams in Australia and Spain to gain hands-on experience in the National Electricity Market, bidding strategies, and market analysis.

Your key responsibilities include:

  • Assist with daily spot market activities and market desk coverage
  • Monitor market conditions and report insights to senior management
  • Collaborate with operations, control room, and site teams
  • Participate in a rotating roster (including weekends and varied shifts)
  • Ensure compliance with market rules and protocols
About You
  • Exposure to the National Electricity Market particularly in wholesale markets or tangentially related fields (e.g. risk, settlements etc.). No prior trading experience required.
  • Tertiary qualifications in commerce, economics, finance, science, or engineering fields.
  • Strong analytical and communication skills
  • Eager to learn and grow in a fast-paced, collaborative environment
