We are seeking a highly skilled Anaesthetist to join our team at Charterhouse. As a Staff Anaesthetist, you will be responsible for providing high-quality perioperative care to patients undergoing surgical and obstetric procedures.
Key Responsibilities- Pre and peri-operative anaesthetic care of surgical and obstetric patients
- Input into the management of patients in the High Dependency Unit and in emergency situations
- Supervision of junior medical staff, including Principal House Officers, Junior House Officers, and Interns
Our department is an accredited training facility, providing a supportive and dynamic environment for medical professionals to develop their skills. We work closely with the University of Tasmania and other institutions to provide high-quality patient care and medical education.

About the FacilityOur 550-bed tertiary hospital is Tasmania's largest hospital, employing over 3000 people. We provide specialist services to a population of around 250,000 people and are the referral hospital for the region. Our hospital is accredited with ANZCA for 36 months and works closely with the University of Tasmania and other institutions.
Requirements- FANZCA or postgraduate qualifications and experience in anaesthetics that meet ANZCA requirements
- NZ FANZCA or
- IMG with training assessed by ANZCA and a substantially comparable outcome
