**The Location**:

**The Facility**:
Our client is a is a well-equipped, 43 bed Emergency department with an annual attendance of 45,000. The ED receives all types of patients including major trauma, with an onsite helipad. The hospital has all major specialities, including a fully supported ICU with ECMO capability and 24-hour cardiac interventional angiography. Only vascular, cardiothoracic and neurosurgery are unavailable on-site. Consultants provide direct clinical supervision of the department from 8.00am until midnight, seven days a week with an on call service outside of these hours. This is a 300-bed Tertiary Facility that provides acute care facilities and treats over 24,000 inpatients and over 225,000 outpatients annually. The Emergency Department provides a 24 hour, 7 day a week emergency medical care service. It is the only major emergency department in the North of the State. Specialist emergency physicians are always on duty on weekdays, most weekends and most evenings. An emergency physician is on-call 24 hours a day for major trauma and critically ill medical cases. The department is recognized for advanced training of emergency physicians.

**The Role**:
The ED has ACEM (Australasian College for Emergency Medicine) accreditation for 12 months of Emergency Training, including paediatric logbook accreditation and runs a successful primary and fellowship exam preparation program, with 2 consultants on the ACEM Board of Examiners.

There are opportunities for advanced trainees to complete accredited rotations including 6 months Anaesthetics, Intensive Care/Retrieval, General Medicine, Paediatrics, Psychiatry, Rural GP and Palliative Care (including the option of completing a palliative care diploma). The FACEM group run a mentoring program and have diverse interests including international EM, Ultrasound, Retrieval, Paediatrics, Wellness and Medical Leadership.
