About HVAC Technicians

HVAC technicians install, maintain and repair heating, ventilation and air conditioning systems. Their work is essential for keeping buildings at a comfortable temperature and ensuring good indoor air quality.

As an HVAC technician, you will have the opportunity to work on a wide range of projects from small residential jobs to large commercial or industrial installations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Maintain high standards of safety; carry out risk assessments and job safety analyses for all tasks.
  • Proactively monitor Building Management Systems (BMS) to ensure plant is functioning optimally.
  • Provide technical support and maintenance on a wide variety of mechanical plant including heat exchangers, cooling towers, pumps and motors; HVAC assets such as AHU, Variable Air Volume (VAV) and heat recovery systems.
  • Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) and reactive repairs across a wide variety of Heating, Ventilation and Air Conditioning (HVAC) and refrigeration systems within the hospital.
Requirements
  • HVAC Trade Certificate with ARCTICK licence including restricted electrical licence.
  • Extensive building services experience in large commercial environments (health or aged care facilities, hotels, shopping centres, university campuses or similar).
