The role of a Payroll Specialist is pivotal in delivering accurate and efficient payroll services to support employees across various organisations.
Key Responsibilities:- Oversee payroll operations from start to finish, including finalisation through banking, payroll clearing, and Single Touch Payroll reconciliation.
- Manage time and attendance data integration and interpretation to ensure accurate flow of information into payroll systems.
- Lead payroll compliance activities, including PAYG, payroll tax, superannuation, and end-of-month reconciliations.
- Provide guidance and expertise to payroll team members, leaders, and employees.
- Support system upgrades, process improvements, and payroll-related projects to drive efficiency and accuracy.
- Build strong relationships with colleagues to deliver high-quality payroll services.
- Minimum 5 years' experience managing end-to-end payroll in a medium to large organisation.
- Strong working knowledge of payroll legislation, taxation, and compliance requirements.
- Demonstrated experience with payroll system finalisation, banking processes, payroll clearing, and STP reporting/reconciliation.
- Experience with time and attendance data integration, interpretation, and end-of-month processes.
- High attention to detail with the ability to resolve complex payroll queries.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to coach and mentor others.
- Proficiency in payroll systems such as Chris21, SAP, SuccessFactors, or similar enterprise platforms.
