Defence Range Operator Role

Our Defence customer requires a skilled and motivated Range Operator to manage defence training areas and ranges. This challenging role involves ensuring safety and efficiency in a technically complex environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct daily range services briefings
  • Operate and maintain range communications systems
  • Work in remote locations with minimal supervision
  • Maintain and operate target systems
  • Support army exercises and operations
  • Work effectively as part of a small team
  • Perform manual handling tasks including lifting
  • Utilize computer systems for booking enquiries and providing advice
  • Coordinate the movement of personnel onto and off the range area
  • Conduct routine maintenance on range facilities as allocated
  • Be a member of the fire response team

About You:

  • Ability to obtain Defence security clearance (Australian citizenship mandatory)
  • Intermediate level literacy and computer skills
  • Hold a current MR (or higher) Australian Drivers Licence
  • Hold or be capable of attaining a workplace first aid qualification to National Certificate Level 2 standard
  • Hold or be capable of attaining operator licences for all range vehicles and equipment
  • Hold or be capable of attaining Fire Qualifications in Wildfire Response and Suppression
  • Previous experience working in the Defence environment highly regarded
