Internal Audit Manager

We are seeking a seasoned professional to join our team as an Internal Audit Manager. This role will focus on end-to-end internal audits, controls assurance, and efficiency improvement across state and local government.

The successful candidate will have prior audit or risk assurance exposure gained within the Australian government or other sectors, accompanied by a solution-focused mindset and the ability to manage multiple projects, influence stakeholders, and foster lasting relationships.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead internal audits and risk assurance projects to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and industry standards.
  • Develop and implement audit plans to identify and mitigate risks, and improve controls and processes.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to gather information, provide recommendations, and implement changes.
  • Manage multiple projects simultaneously, prioritizing tasks and meeting deadlines.
  • Communicate complex audit findings and recommendations to stakeholders, both verbally and in writing.
Requirements:
  • Qualified or part-qualified CA/CPA/ACCA/CIA or degree with 5+ years' internal audit experience in industry or chartered.
  • Big 4 or mid-tier chartered experience preferred (present or past).
  • Experience gained within any state, federal, or local government entity in Australia is highly advantageous, however, strong exposure in other industry sectors also welcome.
  • Superior communication and people skills.
  • Adaptable, self-directed, and a strong team player.
  • Able to work independently or within a team environment.
  • Australian Citizenship is a requirement for this role.
