About This Role

The Risk Management Branch is responsible for assessing risks stemming from foreign acquisitions of sensitive data within Australia's critical infrastructure.

This includes developing a methodology to assess the sensitivity and criticality of data across all critical infrastructure sectors;

Collaborating with internal and external stakeholders to develop appropriate risk mitigation strategies to manage national security threats and vulnerabilities;

Providing expert advice to stakeholders on appropriate risk mitigation strategies for proposed changes;

Building capacity and resilience within the Cyber and Infrastructure Security Operations Division to address national security issues within Australia's critical emerging technology, and data related infrastructure;

Contributing to the development of best practice guidelines for assessing security compliance within the legislative framework;

Main Responsibilities:

  • Develop a comprehensive assessment methodology to evaluate data sensitivity and criticality across various sectors;
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to design effective risk mitigation strategies for national security threats;
  • Offer expert guidance on implementing risk mitigation strategies for proposed changes;
  • Bolster the Cyber and Infrastructure Security Operations Division to address emerging national security challenges;
  • Contribute to developing industry best practices for security compliance assessments within regulatory frameworks;
