Job Title: Construction Cost Manager

We are seeking an experienced Construction Cost Manager to join our team. This role will be responsible for providing cost support and guidance to project delivery teams.

About the Role:

This is a challenging and rewarding opportunity for an individual who is passionate about delivering projects on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Manage third-party Quantity Surveyors, including procurement, resource allocation, regular QBRs, and payment of invoices.
  2. Support operational plan budgets with detailed cost forecasting, benchmarking analysis, and presentation to leadership.
  3. Provide commercial support for capital appropriation requests, consolidating information to support requests to leadership.
  4. Validate external construction cost estimates during design stages.
  5. Implement procurement strategies and guidelines, and participate in tender evaluations.
  6. Lead post-contract construction commercial management, guiding GC pay applications, change order evaluations, and final account closeout.
  7. Monitor adherence to company expenditure limits and policy.
  8. Identify project risks and financial impacts, communicating to the team.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in construction cost management.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Proficient in MS Office, particularly Excel.
  • Knowledge of construction methods and materials.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
