Job Description

Join the School of Medicine at the University of Notre Dame Australia as a sessional academic, contributing to the delivery of high-quality medical education.

About the Role

The Sessional Academic will be responsible for teaching, tutoring, and assessing students in the Medical Program, with opportunities to develop and deliver curriculum content. The role requires strong communication and interpersonal skills, as well as the ability to work effectively in a team.

Key Responsibilities
  • Teach and tutor students in the Medical Program, including preparation of teaching materials and delivery of lectures, tutorials, and workshops.
  • Assess student learning, including the development and implementation of assessment strategies.
  • Consult with students regarding their learning and assessment.
  • Participate in curriculum development and review processes.
  • Contribute to the development of a positive and inclusive learning environment.
Qualifications and Experience
  • Hold a medical degree registrable with the Medical Board of Australia, plus at least one of the following: a College Fellowship or progress towards (e.g. FRACP, FRACGP, etc) and/or a PhD in a field aligned with the research and teaching activities of the School.
  • Experience in medical education, including teaching and assessing students in a health context.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team.
  • Ability to deliver quality learning and teaching practices in multiple modes, including online delivery.
