Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced academic sessional instructor in medicine to join our team at The University of Notre Dame Australia.

About the Role:

The successful candidate will be responsible for conducting teaching, tutorials, workshops, and lectures to the standard of the Faculty. This may include preparation for topics and facilitating group discussions relating to the content. The role also involves consultation with students regarding learning and assessment, participating in assessment activities, including marking and providing feedback, and attending meetings as required by the Course Coordinator.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Teaching and Learning: Conduct high-quality teaching, tutorials, workshops, and lectures to students in the Preclinical or Clinical Years of the Medical program.
  • Student Support: Provide consultation and support to students regarding their learning and assessment needs.
  • Assessment and Feedback: Participate in assessment activities, including marking and providing feedback on student work.
  • Teamwork and Collaboration: Work effectively as part of a team to achieve academic goals and contribute to a positive learning environment.
  • Professional Development: Undertake professional development opportunities arranged by the School to maintain currency in scholarship and practice.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Education: Hold a College Fellowship, a trainee position in a Fellowship Program, or a PhD in a relevant area. A medical degree registrable with the Medical Board of Australia is also required.
  • Clinical Experience: Have experience in clinical settings and demonstrate a high level of interest in medical education and teaching in a health context.
  • Teaching and Assessment Skills: Possess excellent teaching and assessment skills, including the ability to design and deliver engaging and effective learning experiences.
  • Communication and Interpersonal Skills: Demonstrate excellent communication and interpersonal skills, including the ability to work effectively in a team and provide clear and constructive feedback.

Salary: $85,000 - $110,000 per annum, depending on qualifications and experience.
