Inventory Specialist Opportunity
Maximize your inventory management expertise by taking on a challenging role as an Inventory Specialist. This key position involves overseeing and managing inventory levels, implementing control procedures, coordinating with procurement and delivery teams to ensure seamless supply chain and quality management.
Key Responsibilities:
- Liaise with the Plant Superintendent and Maintenance Planner to understand material requirements, spare parts, and rotable stock items for timely delivery.
- Manage inventory control systems for Rail Plant Services Maintenance Facilities West.
- Set up and maintain stock items in the Common Item master list.
- Conduct weekly cycle counts to ensure availability and management of stocked items.
- Maintain appropriate stock levels for plant items required in the maintenance plan using min/max and reorder points.
- Update and maintain job plan material lists.
- Ensure compliance with inventory systems and procedures to maximize resource utilization and minimize costs.
- Support delivery team/trades personnel by issuing parts promptly within the workshop and to site.
- Receive deliveries.
- Maintain a high standard of cleanliness in the stores area.
Requirements:
- Experienced inventory manager.
- Diploma level qualification in warehousing, inventory management, or similar disciplines.
- Minimum 5 years' experience in a supply chain role.
- Experience with asset and/or inventory management systems in the Rail industry and across Plant & Equipment Fleet maintenance.
- Stores management practices.
- Advanced knowledge of inventory data metrics and stocktake processes.
- Strong proficiency in computer skills and Microsoft Excel, Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, and Maximo.
- Strong communication skills.
