Job Description

Electorate Officers play a vital role in providing services to the Victorian community, working closely with Members of Parliament and other stakeholders. This position offers a unique opportunity to make a meaningful impact in a fast-paced and rewarding environment.

  • Media & Communications: Draft and edit media releases, newsletters, and speeches; liaise with media; monitor coverage.
  • Research & Policy Support: Research local and state issues, prepare reports and briefings, track grants and government programs.
  • Community Engagement: Respond to constituent enquiries, support the Member at events, and maintain strong local networks.
  • Digital & Social Media Management: Develop content, manage online platforms, track engagement, and refine outreach strategies.
  • Office Administration & Support: Oversee office operations, manage correspondence and records, coordinate events, and support the Member's diary.
Required Skills and Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Sound written and oral communication skills, with a proven ability to undertake research and prepare written materials.
  • Excellent computer skills, including experience in MS suite of software and online communications.
  • A commitment to providing high-quality client service in a challenging environment, while maintaining confidentiality and strictest integrity.
  • Strong knowledge of traditional and social media landscape, with the ability to maintain relationships with journalists and media outlets.
  • Ability to collaborate with diverse stakeholders, from government and peak organisations to local community groups and constituents.
