The Department of Medicine at Mackay Base Hospital is seeking a medical professional to join their team as a House Officer. The successful candidate will work in a dynamic and fast-paced environment, providing holistic care to patients under the supervision of a staff specialist.

Responsibilities:

  • Participate in daily consultant-led ward rounds">
  • Conduct comprehensive clinical assessments of patients in the emergency department, medical wards and outpatient setting">
  • Arrange and initiate clinical investigations and discharge planning as directed by the supervising consultant">
  • Ensure comprehensive, accurate and concise medical records are maintained for all patients">
  • Participate in out-of-hours roster including nights and weekends">
  • Participate in teaching, quality improvement and professional development activities as directed">

The successful candidate will possess a strong understanding of medical principles and practices, with excellent communication and interpersonal skills. A high level of adaptability and flexibility is also essential, given the fast-paced nature of the role.
