Job Title

A distinguished professional is sought to assume the role of Assistant Director Regulatory Intelligence, leading a team responsible for developing high-quality intelligence and analysis to inform strategic planning and operations.

  • The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills and experience in managing teams consistent with statutory responsibilities and organisational policies.
  • This senior position requires exceptional analytical skills, ability to identify opportunities and solutions, and provide expert advice on complex regulatory issues.
  • The successful candidate must establish effective communication systems, both internally and externally, to ensure stakeholders are consulted and information disseminated as required.
  • Briefings and documentation must be delivered clearly, communicating findings of analysis to influence executive decision-making.
  • This role involves representing the organisation at meetings and forums to provide expert intelligence, analysis, and advice on key regulatory issues.
Key Responsibilities

The Assistant Director, Regulatory Intelligence, will lead the development, coordination, and provision of high-quality intelligence and analysis to support regulatory activity. This includes:

  • Providing leadership to effectively manage the team, ensuring consistency with statutory responsibilities and organisational policies.
  • Coordinating the development of regulatory intelligence capabilities and products to support regulatory activity.
  • Providing high-level intelligence analysis on complex and sensitive issues, identifying opportunities and solutions, and providing expert advice.
  • Establishing effective communication systems, both internally and externally, to ensure stakeholders are consulted and information disseminated as required.
  • Delivering briefings and documentation clearly, communicating findings of analysis to influence executive decision-making.
  • Representing the organisation at meetings and forums to provide expert intelligence, analysis, and advice on key regulatory issues.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, candidates must demonstrate the following skills and qualifications:

  • Strong experience in engaging with stakeholders on difficult or sensitive issues.
  • Excellent research, conceptual thinking, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent organisational skills, with the capability to self-manage multiple competing priorities while working to tight deadlines.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills, including quality assurance ability.
  • Flexibility to work independently and collaboratively with geographically dispersed teams.
  • Strong data and regulatory intelligence literacy, including structured analytical techniques.
  • Understanding of the role of data, intelligence, and information in modern regulatory agencies.
  • Ability to manage, develop, and lead a team, including data and intelligence specialist staff.
