Senior Information Security Professional

We are seeking a skilled Senior Security Engineer/Expert/Specialist to join our team. This individual will be responsible for protecting our assets from threats and ensuring that IT systems and processes comply with security policies.

This is a challenging role that requires a strong understanding of current IT security systems, practices, and standards. The successful candidate will have experience in using SEIM, vulnerability management, intrusion detection, and other security systems.

In addition to technical expertise, we are looking for a professional who can lead investigations into local security incidents, ensure local security systems are effectively configured to detect and block threats, and review requests for change from a security perspective.

The ideal candidate will have a solid foundation in information security and cyber security standards, frameworks, and code of practices such as ISO/IEC 27001, ISO/IEC 27002, NIST Cyber Security Framework, etc.

• Maintain all required security audit records and present these to auditors.
  
• Lead investigations into local security incidents.
  
• Ensure local security systems are effectively configured to detect and block threats.
  
• Ensure vulnerability management is performed as per contractual requirements.
  
• Review requests for change from security perspective and provide advice to Change Management Board.
  
• Assist in developing and maintaining standard operating procedures for the local systems to ensure they comply with security policies.
  

• Experience: Three to five years of industry experience in an information security function.
  
• Knowledge & Skills: Solid technical knowledge of current IT security systems, practises and standards is required. Experience in using SEIM, vulnerability management, intrusion detection and other security systems. Excellent documentation and communications skills are essential.
  
• Professional Competencies: CISSP or CISM - Certified Information Security Manager (CISM) will be well regarded.
  
• Core Competencies: Knowledge of the Australian Governments Information Security Manual. Knowledge in information security and cyber security standards, frameworks, and code of practices such as ISO/IEC 27001, ISO/IEC 27002, NIST Cyber Security Framework, etc.
  
• Education & Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in computer science or related field, or equivalent experience.
